Onno Van Der Hart
Among the leading international experts on trauma-related dissociation, on complex trauma-related disorders, including dissociative disorders. Psychologist, psychotherapist, qualified family therapist and researcher, he is professor emeritus of chronic traumatization psychopathology at the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, and, until January 1, 2013, psychologist/psychotherapist at Center for Sinai Mental Health, Amstelveen. He is a clinical consultant at the Center for Post-Trauma Therapy and Trauma Eduction, in Helsinki and Oulu, Finland. Author of many publications on trauma, in Italy he published Fantasmi nel sé. Trauma and treatment of structural dissociation (Cortina), The treatment of traumatic dissociation. A practical and integrative approach (Mimesis), Traumatic dissociation (Mimesis).
Kathy Steele
Kathy Steele, MN, CS, is the Clinical Director of Metropolitan Counseling Services in Atlanta, USA. She was President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). You have received numerous citations and awards for your work in the field of complex trauma and dissociative disorders. She is co-author of the volume Ghosts in the Self. Trauma and treatment of structural dissociation.
Suzette A. Boon
Suzette A. Boon, Ph.D., is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of chronic trauma and dissociative disorders. She translated and validated the Dutch version of the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Dissociative Disorders (SCID-D) and obtained her doctorate in 1993 with a thesis on of Multiple Personality in the Netherlands”. You have published several books, chapters and articles on both the diagnosis and treatment of dissociative disorders and have created a specific manual for patients with complex dissociative disorder, aimed at helping them develop specific skills. The Italian version of the manual, “Traumatic Dissociation – Understanding and Dealing with It”, which she wrote together with Kathy Steele and Onno van der Hart, was published by Mimesis in 2013. Dr. Boon has also created a new Semi-structured interview for complex dissociative disorders and trauma-related symptoms, entitled “Trauma and Dissociation Symptoms Interview or TADS-I”. An Interview evaluation study has just begun. Suzette Boon is also co-author of the book “The Cure for Traumatic Dissociation. A practical and integrative approach” (Steele, Boon & Van der Hart, 2017), thanks to which she was awarded the Pierre Janet prize awarded to her by the ISSTD in 2017. She currently works as a Trainer and Supervisor in several European countries and also has a private practice . She is also co-founder of the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD), of which she was the first President. The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) awarded her the David Caul Memorial Award in 1993, as well as the Morton Prince Award in 1994. In 1995, it awarded her Full Member status of the Society, recognizing his important contribution to the diagnosis, treatment, research and study in the field of dissociative disorders. In 2009 you received the Life Time Achievement Award and, in 2011, the Pierre Janet Prize for the book “Traumatic Dissociation – Understanding and Coping with It”. In 2017 you again received the Pierre Janet prize as co-author of the book “The cure for traumatic dissociation. A practical and integrative approach".
