Throughout our lives we are faced with obstacles that can serve as opportunities for personal growth, healing, and expanding our resilience. Mental health professionals are recognizing the profound impact of the pandemic not only on adults, but on children and adolescents as well as their families. The worldwide pandemic is providing us with an accelerated opportunity for inner and outer change given the magnitude of the issues that are emerging for all of us. Protective factors during childhood, such as adequate caregiving and regulatory capacity, a sense of efficacy, belonging, and support in times of need -- help us be able to adapt and to develop resilience. However, resilience is not only as the capacity to bounce back from stress, trauma and adversity, but is a dynamic process that can be nurtured and strengthened at any age. caregiver - as well as the development of a sense of efficacy, belonging, and the availability of sources of support in times of need, are all elements that help us adapt and become resilient. However, resilience does not only imply the ability to recover from stressful, traumatic or adverse events: resilience is a dynamic process that can be nurtured and strengthened at any age.
This webinar elucidates practical ways of developing resilience, cultivating spiritual awareness, understanding ways that the body carries the legacy of trauma, and addressing the physical as well as the psychological effects of adverse experience on wellbeing. Participants will learn skills from Sensorimotor Psychotherapy not only to cope and recover from trauma, but to grow, thrive and develop spiritually, discovering that stress, adversity and even trauma can catalyze personal and collective transformation.
